GEICO Power Lunch Series

On January 15, 2019, Rosanna Berardi was the very first speaker in the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce’s new GEICO Power Lunch Series. Rosanna spoke to a full house at the West Seneca Community Center & Library, where she discussed hot topics in immigration such as the government shutdown and Canada’s new DWI laws.

TechConnex Tech CEO Peer Group Presentation

On Friday, September 7, 2018, Rosanna Berardi gave a presentation at the TechConnex Tech CEO Peer Group titled, Hot Topics at the U.S./Canadian Border: Working in the U.S. and Safeguarding your Cell Phone under the Trump Administration. Rosanna presented to CEO’s from more than 25 technology companies in Canada. Rosanna’s presentation focused on recent changes at the border regarding work permits and business admissions. She also provided tips for safeguarding your cell phone at the border. The conference was held at the IBM Campus in Toronto.

U.S. Department of Commerce’s Select USA Conference

Managing Partner Rosanna Berardi was honored to speak at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Select USA conference in Washington, D.C. on June 20, 2018.  Rosanna’s panel discussed “Understanding Business Immigration Programs and U.S. Visas” and was attended by more than 100 prospective investors from around the world.  Berardi Immigration Law is excited to work with these new investors.

New Exporters to Border States (NEBS) Seminar

On Thursday, May 17, 2018, Managing Partner Rosanna Berardi was one of the featured speakers at the New Exporters to Border States (NEBS) Seminar. This seminar is hosted quarterly in Buffalo, New York by the Ontario, Canada government and offers a practical, hands-on introduction to the basics of exporting to the United States. Rosanna gave a presentation detailing an overview of the U.S. immigration system and some of the options exporters looking to the U.S. may have. The event also featured speakers on federal and state tax liability issues, currency exchange strategies, corporate and legal considerations, and U.S. customs clearance information. In order to participate, interested companies must have been in business for at least one year and have a manufacturing or service base in Ontario. The seminar is geared towards companies who are considering exporting to the United States, exporting companies with new staff, and anyone involved in the export process.

Rosanna Berardi Speaks at University at Buffalo CEL Ask the Experts Event

On Thursday, May 10, 2018, Rosanna Berardi was one of the featured speakers at the University at Buffalo’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Ask the Experts event. Rosanna Berardi gave a 20-minute presentation titled, “Your iPhone and the Border: Your Privacy Rights at the Border.” During this presentation, Rosanna provided a brief overview of electronic device searches at the border and how frequent border travelers can best prepare for the possibility of a device search. Rosanna was one among 19 speakers at this event. It was held from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m.at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens.

Immigration & Cross-Border Issues Seminar at Barclay Damon

On April 23, 2018, Managing Partner Rosanna Berardi presented a seminar to the attorneys at Barclay Damon on immigration and common cross-border issues. During this seminar, Rosanna discussed immigration 101, common immigration categories, President Trump and NAFTA, and privacy rights at the border. This seminar was worth one CLE credit for all attending attorneys.

Canisius College’s Building PoWerful Partnerships – Women’s Leadership Council Networking Event

On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, Managing Partner Rosanna Berardi was one of the featured mentors at Canisius College’s Building PoWerful Partnerships – Women’s Leadership Council Networking Event. The event included a brief introduction about the power of networking & mentorship and one-hour of “speed mentoring,” which involved a series of 4-5 minute conversations with accomplished, high profile Canisius alumnae and friends. This event was free and allowed women the opportunity to make valuable connections with influential leaders across Canisius and the community!
